Our town planners have extensive experience with local and strategic planning frameworks, as well as being part of a team of specialist consultants working on behalf of local councils and private developers to investigate and develop pathways for the delivery of projects identified in a strategic plan.

Additionally, we commonly investigate the strategic planning merit to rezone land, and if merit is found, we prepare the Planning Proposal to formally seek approval to amend the relevant Local Environmental Plan (LEP). Aside from rezoning land, we also prepare Planning Proposals to amend other development standards, including maximum height of buildings. These applications are typically proponent-initiated planning proposals where the proponent is a private landowner or development company. Our documentation and process align with the NSW State Government’s “Local Environmental Plan Making Guideline” (August 2023) and the relevant local planning authority’s requirements.

Strategic planning is underpinned by collaboration between all stakeholders and across all industries. Our strategic planning work includes an important role of facilitating consultation with affected landowners, the local community, community groups, councils, Regional Planning Panels, State government departments and authorities, and other consultants, all in an effort to understand the key concerns and priorities of these individual parties. This provides a basis for decision makers to be well-informed on matters that affect a large area, or a wide group of people.
