de Witt Consulting were initially engaged by Supercars Pty Ltd in February 2017 to manage all aspects of the survey infrastructure preservation for the project. This involved close collaboration with designers (Northrop Consulting Engineers), Land and Property Information NSW (LPI), and the client (Supercars & iEDM project management) and adapting to a changing and evolving design to deliver a suitable set of deliverables, ensuring the client’s compliance with the Act. To satisfy the Surveyor General and LPI, the team at deWitt Consulting was given the challenging task of researching and recovering all boundary reference markers within the large supercars construction footprint within five weeks of commencement, while also meeting the requirements of untested new survey regulations introduced only weeks prior.

Extensive research into the suburb’s cadastre highlighted 180 survey marks within the construction extents; these were replaced by marks installed in safe locations by de Witt Consulting, and incorporated in an all-inclusive high precision survey linking all existing and replacement marks. Following such works de Witt Consulting were ongoingly engaged by IEDM and Supercars to set out the grandstands, footbridges and even the starting grid, concurrently up to three fulltime de Witt Survey Crews were engaged to provide survey services direct to Supercars Contractors Daracon and Gleeson Civil for two stages of the track construction.
